Our simple guide to planning the cost of your new kitchen

The kitchen is a central part of the home, so it is important your new kitchen reflects your family’s personality. Whether you regularly host parties, love to bake, or have children completing homework, your kitchen needs to work around you.

Here is a simple guide on what to consider when planning the cost of your new kitchen.

Features and Appliances

The features of your kitchen are one of the main things you need to consider when planning your new kitchen. Think about what you like and use in your current kitchen. Make a list of your priority items, appliances you can’t live without. If there’s anything you don’t use that is sitting on your counter taking up space, consider not including it in your new kitchen design.

At Kitchens Complete, we don’t forget the details. Sometimes the flooring, tiling, plastering, electrics, and decorating can slip your mind when you’re focused on your new cupboards and appliances. Remember to include these when you’re planning the costs of your new kitchen.

Layout

The layout of your kitchen is important and can capture your personality. Do you need extra storage space or an island in the centre of the room? All these options can be tailored to you and are important to consider when designing your new kitchen.

If you regularly spend time in your kitchen, you may want a bigger, more spacious layout. But if you only use your kitchen to cook in, you might consider a smaller space. It’s all about your needs and how you use your kitchen. Some people may prefer plenty of worktop space, and others may only need the minimum. Remember that the price will increase as you increase these elements to create the perfect layout for your kitchen.

Lighting

Good lighting in a kitchen is essential. Consider adding undercabinet lights or some statement lighting to really bring your kitchen together. If your current kitchen has access to natural light, design your new kitchen around a bright window. Think about whether you want more natural light in your kitchen, installing rooflights or bifold doors could give your kitchen that added wow factor.

At Kitchens Complete, all kitchen design is included within our free no obligation quote. This will reduce your overall kitchen costs as some kitchen designers can be expensive.
